1. Practice will be every Sunday here (the location we had our first meeting). The times will be varying, as this year the rec department has decided to rotate times in order to make it fair for everyone. There is a calendar on our squad site to help everyone keep up with the changing practice times.
  2. Please show up to practice on time, ready to begin at the designated time.
  3. If you cannot make it to a practice (or to a game), please let me know in advance. A call, email, or text message would be sufficient. If your child has two unexcused absences, they may have to sit out at a game due to missed material. A call is the difference between an excused and an unexcused missed practice. If you have extenuating circumstances where your child has to miss a number of practices/games, that is okay as long as you let me know and are aware that it will be more difficult for your child to remember her cheers. I will put all cheers online so you can practice with your child if this is the case.
  4. Our game schedule has not been released yet.
  5. All games will be at (text me if you've forgotten!).
  6. We will have an exhibition at the end of the season where the girls will get to show off their competition-style cheer and dance. We will find out when this will be around the end of February, as it is getting closer to the tournament. There is a chance that this exhibition will be on a weeknight.
  7. Our squad is comprised of girls in Pre-K—2nd grade. We will be cheerleading for the 2nd-3rd grade Huskies Basketball team.
  8. A white turtleneck/bodysuit, black briefs, white cheer shoes, white socks, and hair bows will be purchased by the parents. The uniform must be worn for a girl to participate in cheering at a game. I will make the bows, which will probably be about $4. If you can pay me back for the bow, I appreciate it, but if you cannot, I understand. There are examples of all of these items on our site website, as well as links to order them online.
  9. Girls should have their hair out of their eyes while cheering. No jewelry may be worn, including post earrings, for safety purposes. The post earring rule is set by the Rec Dept, not by me.
  10. During practice, girls should wear proper practice attire: tennis shoes, tee-shirts, sweatpants, yoga pants, leggings, etc. Jeans are difficult to move in and should not be worn to practice.
  11. Cheerleaders should obey their coaches during practice and games.
  12. Practices will be closed to parents. Without parents at practice, girls tend to open up more, listen to the coach better, and it just all around makes for a better practice. However, parents may choose to arrive ten minutes before the end of practice and may observe some of what the girls have learned during that practice.
  13. If parents have a complaint, they should discuss it privately with the coach at a time other than during a practice or a game.
  14. Please be in communication with me. I will work with all parents on expenses if need be and will be accommodating if your child cannot make it to practice.
  15. Wondering if practice or a game is canceled? Call me, not the Rec Department. I’ll know before the office staff does.
